| Deerkill Day Camp | |
| Coed summer day camp | Suffern, New York |
| Deerkill, owned and operated by the Rhodes family since 1958, is a traditional coed day camp that offers a warm and supportive environment on a beautiful suburban campus just 30 minutes from NYC. Our group leaders, the counselors who are with our children throughout the day, are mature adults, not college students. We have programs for campers from ages 3 through 14. Deerkill offers a superb swimming program, team sports and a dozen specialty programs in the creative and performing arts. Our campus has 15 developed acres including a theater studio and a dozen specialty buildings. Our large enclosed basketball pavilion, gymnastics building and three mini gyms allow us to offer a full program even on rainy days. Swimming instruction is in heated pools with one counselor to every three children in the water. All campers are picked up and dropped off at their door by air-conditioned mini-buses supervised by bus counselors. Hot lunches, towels, supplies, field trips, a free family weekend club and other "extras" are included, and no tipping is allowed. We encourage parents to visit camp while it is in operation, and we encourage communication between our group leaders and parents. Visit us at www.deerkilldaycamp.com. |

| Coed Day Camp | Chelsea's gallery district in New York, NY |
| The place for arts-savvy New York kids, Culture Bugs! is well-known for its commitment to a creative, child-centered methodology encouraging children to express themselves freely, develop a sense of ease, familiarity and mastery in the arts, and have a ton of fun at the same time. Kids are immersed in a combination of wonderful gallery hops and in-studio sessions of music, dance and lots of hands-on art. Children dig into a broad range of artists' materials as they sing, dance, improvise, read poetry, listen to late 20th and 21st century music and stretch their active minds and bodies into new and exciting configurations. There is a 5:1 camper/ teacher ratio of talented artists drawn from some of the best arts institutions and MFA programs in the countryThe program encourages children to take the lead in dictating the shape of projects, and the continued emphasis on well-defined themes gives them a sense of autonomy and creative freedom. Spacious, daylight gallery/studio overlooking the Hudson River in the heart of Chelsea's gallery district. All around arts activities including a holistically integrated program of music, movement and lots of hands-on art plus near daily field trips to galleries and museums. | Thomas School of Horsemanship Summer Day Camp | |
| Coed horsemanship day camp | Melville, New York |
| Thomas School Summer Day Camp is a small camp filled with 65 years of tradition. At TSH we facilitate children learning life long skills such as responsibility, compassion, gentle communication, teamwork and the joys of success through interactions with horses and quality staff. Boys and girls from 3 years old to 15 year olds participate in daily horseback riding lessons, horse care lessons, and a stable period for the older campers. In addition to the full horsemanship program, campers enjoy daily swim lessons, and choose from a variety of sports and arts, such as tennis, gymnastics, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, archery, dance and drama. The unique teen program draws a great group of teens who would rather be with horses than travel every day. Often these teens have their sights on becoming a camp counselor. Many campers make it a year round activity by continuing riding lessons throughout the school year. Horses become a way of life for these children. The camp is being directed by Nancy Thomas, who is the 2nd generation owner-director. Not only are new families joining every year, but many children and grandchildren of past campers are experiencing the joys that their parents remember. |
